I've always liked the Sikh religion in India despite converting to Christainity last year. I still don't know why I chose that religion - well, I do. Logically at least I do, but I wont explain here. (after being agnostic all my life maybe a combo of atheist and agnostic). I've often been called Sikh too, and my long hair and Punjabi looks have nothing to do with it though I'm NOT Punjabi - hell, for someone whose been called everything from sand nigger to Habib to spic to Jesus to seer to Bodyweight Exercise Guru, movie star, TV personality and so much else more, it ain't that.
Its VIBE. The sikh religion is an off shoot of Hinduism as far as I understand it, but I KNOW FOR A FACT its a very egalitarian religion unlike Hinduism where everything even in this day and age is caste, creed and color and by extension social class (which is there everywhere minus the first 3).
Hinduism originally had castes based upon vocation which was fine, no real discrimination there but even then, slaves were always slaves, and bosses always bosses, but THESE days like with everything in India, literally the gayest place in the whole world and not just sexually its been warped beyond any concept.
Nothing like this with Sikhs though. Even their langars (communal food offering) have people of all castes, backgrounds, etc - eating together. Truly a pandara as they call it - a Pandoras Box as I call it, hehe - a Pandora, I troll people by saying but its true, true melting pot like the liquor stores in India (well, the traditional ones where all melts into a cacophony of crazed liquor seeking liquor handed out brutallly from behind bars. Research my writing on that one on the other site, you will get it).
That, along with the warrior spirit is what I love about their religion, they carry a knife mostly for ceremonial purposes, but the original concept was FIGHT for the downtrodden and what is RIGHT. Like yours truly always has.

They're rich though, and money solves all, so that's probably why the marriage is still holding up - most others wouldn't.
